Applied Arts, which is Canada's premier magazine focused on visual communications has chosen images from my personal series about the California Aqueduct as winners in the Nature, Landscape & Wildlife category. The whole series consists of a total of 42 images which document the curvy California Aqueduct. The mood, subjects and stories changed mile for mile and around each bend I found myself as an observer along the concrete banks discovering an atmosphere that I can only describe through the photos I captured. Today in California the supply of water is almost non existent and in dire times, which made this project so important for me. One of the man-made structures easily forgotten and not always understood is the 700 mile long California Aqueduct, a huge system of canals starting from San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta and stretching down to Southern California.
