Finland Turns 100!

Flags will fly high as Finland celebrates its 100th year of independence on this 6th of December. While visiting our Finnish home last summer, my wife Anne and I thought we would honor our homeland by working on a series of photos of Finnish National Costumes. Finns have many different kinds of costumes dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. They are usually worn for special occasions such as weddings, graduations, concerts or folk dance performances. We want to again thank the kind people from Orivesi and Kangasala for helping us to make these images happen. There are many more costumes different regions and families, and we are hoping to continue this series next summer.
